On January 5th, Ms. Dippo and Mr. Atwood welcomed four former Morgan Township students back to campus for the 16th Annual Science Alumni Roundtable with AP Biology and AP Chemistry classes. The event provided current students with a unique opportunity to hear directly from Morgan alumni about how their high school experiences helped prepare them for the academic and personal challenges of college. Alumni shared insights into their transition from high school to higher education, discussed their college journeys, and highlighted the STEM fields they are currently pursuing.
A key goal at Morgan Township Schools is to help mold students into productive, well-prepared citizens in the real world, and events like the Science Alumni Roundtable play an important role in that mission. By connecting classroom learning to real-world applications and career pathways, students were able to see how the skills they are developing now—such as critical thinking, problem-solving, and perseverance—extend far beyond high school. The opportunity for one-on-one conversations at the end of the session allowed students to ask specific questions, gain deeper insight into individual majors, and better understand the expectations of college-level coursework.
The success of the event was made possible by the willingness of our alumni to return and invest in the next generation of Morgan students. We would like to extend a sincere thank you to Emily Rastovski, Jordan Ogiego, Peyton Honchar, and Dana Abbring for taking the time to share their experiences, offer guidance, and inspire our students. Their stories and advice reinforced the importance of preparation, focus, and lifelong learning—values that remain at the core of the Morgan Township community.
