8th grade boy’s basketball tipped off last night in tournament play against South Central in the first round of the PCC. Morgan controlled the game from the tip with the entire team contributing to the win. Gavin Lamere and Mercury Pappas led the scoring with 10 points each. Heath Rubarts once again provided impressive defense against South Central’s leading scorer, and with help from his teammates, held him to zero points for the game while dropping in 5 points of his own. Clayton Atchison was awarded the Cherokee Award, his third of the season, as the impact player of the game for his overall control of the game and leadership of the team. Come out and cheer these athletes on as they face Kouts on the road tomorrow in round 2.

The 7th Grade Boys basketball team won their first round of the PCC tournament last night defeating South Central 34-16.   It was another all around team win with highlight moments coming from each player.  Wyatt Craigin came up with some huge buckets for 6 points, along with Vaun Bailey who had 4, and Max Martinez who had 2. Gideon Matthews also had his first points of the season! They move on to face Kouts Wednesday night in the semifinals at Kouts. Tip off will be 5:00pm.
