Seniors- 

Please pay attention to the Guidance Google Classroom. Mrs. McSparin has been posting several scholarship opportunities, with due dates quickly approaching. Please pay attention to the requirements. Mrs. McSparin will continue to post scholarship opportunities as they become available. 

The annual middle school Halloween dance will be held on Friday, October 20th, from 6-7:30.  Tickets will be sold at the door for $5 per person, with all proceeds going to benefit Riley's Children's Hospital.  Dress is casual or wear your Halloween costume to compete for a prize!  One boy and one girl winner will be picked from each grade.

Who likes cookie dough?!?!? The high school baseball team is selling cookie dough so if you’d like to order some please find a member of the high school baseball team to order!! 

CLUBS

Congratulations to the cast and crew of the upcoming middle school production of Ho! Ho! Ho! The Santa Claus Chronicles by Pat Cook. Please visit the bulletin board in the cafeteria to accept your part and follow the directions posted on the board. If you have any questions please reach out to Mrs. Cox.  We will see the full cast and crew at Tuesday’s first table read.

Did you know that there are still children suffering from Polio in Afghanistan and Pakistan? And there is no better time than now to help eradicate polio once and for all. Beginning this Monday, October 16th, you will have the opportunity to make a difference and provide an end to this infectious disease. Get your pinky painted purple as a sign of your support! All you need is a $1 donation and your chance to win a $50 gift card is real! Don’t forget - 100 % of proceeds will go toward this great cause! Let’s go Cherokees! 

Attention all High Schoolers, Key Club’s first meeting is this today during SRT in the cafeteria, please bring your $12 dues and a bag of candy for our Treats for Troops collection that will be shipped next week! We look forward to seeing you there on Friday!

Freshman, a reminder that Class Officer Petitions are due NO LATER THAN Monday, October 16 if you want to be on the ballot. They can be turned into Mrs. Wells or Mrs. George.  Late petitions will not be accepted.

There will be an FFA Chapter Meeting during SRT today in the agriculture building! Only dues paying members can attend. If you still want to be in FFA - it's not too late! Just turn in your dues to the middle school/high school office by Friday! We'll have fall snacks and will be packing snack bags for farmers. 

Student Council members are to take candy donations for the dance to Miss Bell or Miss Richter before next Thursday.  Remember, you get a point per bag!

Middle schoolers attending the dance, as well as Student Council members that will be helping out are encouraged to bring a donation of baked goods or pre-packaged desserts to the dance.  There will be food available for purchase, and a free dessert table for all to enjoy.   Please bring cookies, brownies, cupcakes, or anything you think your friends would enjoy!

SPORTS

The 7th grade girls volleyball defeated Hebron. McKenna Bucher had 5 aces and 2 kills, Addison Story had 7 aces and 2 kills. Cadence Albers led the hits with 10 kills, Brinley Gelon had 3 kills, and Kennedy Holman had 2. Great defense and teamwork ladies!

All around great team win for the 8th grade girls volleyball team over Hebron last night for the 8th graders in 2.  Everyone contributed and the atmosphere was awesome.  Lilie Dippo led the team with digs and Elli Ramirez with assists.  Kaylee Krieger, Shiloh Otey, Madison Gelon, and Anastasia Degner were huge at the net.  Carly Hand and Lennon Molchan were the key servers. 

The HS girls varsity volleyball team defeated HAST last night in their first round of sectional play. Leading the team in kills were Lexi Rippe and Braelynn Dudzik with 8 a piece. Leading in service aces was Josie Lemmons with 3. Leading in digs was Maddy Keifer with 2. Leading in assists was Sierra Ricke with 24. The team will advance to the sectional semifinals and play Tri Township on Saturday at Washington Township at 12:30 pm. The sectional championship will be played at 6 pm Saturday night. Come on out and cheer on your Lady Cherokees!
