How is the Tin Man like Spiderman? Find out this weekend as the High School Drama Club presents Oz by Don Zolidis. There are three shows to pick from: Friday at 7 and Saturday at 2 and 7. Tickets are $5 at the door. Thank you to everyone who picked up a free ticket in the office this week. As a thank you, if you get one senior cast member to sign your ticket, you will also receive one free concession at the show. Not sure who
our seniors are? There are 10 of them and their pictures are on the Drama Club bulletin board in the cafeteria.
Do you have a stack of Pokemon cards gathering dust somewhere in the back of your closet? Well, dust them off and relive your elementary school glory days with the Tabletop Gaming Club. We meet this Friday --- that's tomorrow -- after school until 4:00 in Ms. T-Smith's room.
There will be an East Porter Student Council Fall Mixer this Saturday, October 7th, from 5-8, in Kouts. There will be a corn maze, bonfire, hayride and food. Details will be discussed in Friday's Student Council Meeting, and we will need a headcount by the end of the meeting. Please be thinking about whether or not you can attend!
This is a reminder for the Middle School Art club: we are moving our first meeting from this week to next Wednesday October 11th instead. See you then!
SPORTS
Big win over Kouts for our 7th grade girls volleyball! Addison Story led game 1 with 11 aces and Kennedy Holman led game 2 with 6 aces. Audrey Sutherlin helped with 3 aces and Addy Woelfel had 2 aces. They take on Washington Township tomorrow night at home.
8th grade girls volleyball fell in 3 hard-fought sets against Kouts. We led the first game with aces, Landry Braun had 5 in a row. Lilie Dippo led the team in digs shutting down Kouts outside hitter. Shiloh Otey also was strong on the net with crucial blocks and kills. Great all-around team effort and we are ready to come back strong against Washington tonight.
Boys Soccer was victorious last night in the second round of sectionals, shutting out conference rival Washington 2-0. Cooper Spagna patiently and unselfishly assisted Brayden Cuson for what turned out to be the game winning goal in the first half. Later in the half, Brayden hit a direct freekick that found the back of the net to give us a 2-0 lead. The defense, led by Logan Atchison and Noah Barker, held the lead to send the Cherokees to the sectional final. The boys play Saturday at 2:00 PM for the title. Come out and support the team!
